That's your best piece so far. What I would recommand for you to get better is to take a national geographic or whatever got good picture and try to mimic it. I know it doesn't promote originality. But your not lacking originality, you just need pratice and technique.

(In response to the last comment) Correct-o. I need to paint every day, not just draw. Bad me. It's one of the older ones, though - but still one of my favorites. I need to work on shadows and realism.

i disagree on the recommendation! i think practicing every day is good, but you're not going for the really clean fantasy style, i don't think... i like the cleaner colors, the more childish approach to fantasy themes. makes them seem more honest than a lot of photorealistic fantasy works i've seen on this site. i'm not saying not to keep growing, i'm just saying that i like your work fine as it is...shadows and realism are for photographs and traditionalists...

hey this is really cute! :) I love the wings ecspecially and it's head. I've done a similar kind of picture myself a few years ago of a half robotic horse... If I ever do a better version I'll post it up. I guess you only need to practice as much as you think you need to and want to, and how far or how much you want to extend yourself, it's really up to you. :)
